Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja

During the summer months, the National Literacy Agency will be offering a summer edition of the Footballers’ Read and Write Programme / Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja.
The aim of this programme is to inspire a love of reading and writing amongst students who love football. Past cycles have shown that most of the participants improved their reading skills by the end of the programme. The FRWP sessions combine the children’s love and passion for football with reading and writing, thus motivating them to read and better their overall language skills.

Well done to the Winners of the eTwinning Newsletter Competition

During this scholastic year, three kindergarten classes worked together on an eTwinning project called Grow and Learn. This project aimed to teach young children all about seeds. The children observed the growth of different seeds and compared several factors such as the ideal environment, the growth rate and length of the stem.

The aims of the project were to learn through hands on activities and to instil responsibility in young children by taking care of the growing plants, learn to appreciate nature and provide opportunities to enhance their language development.

The children sowed sunflower seeds, basil seeds and tomato seedlings among the olive trees in the school’s garden in Hal Niklusi Street. They watered them regularly and observed their growing stages. The children enjoyed all the activities that were carried out and were completely engaged throughout the project.
