Preparation for the new scholastic year are well underway. We will use this space to update you with all the relevant information and details you will need.
We kindly ask that to bear with us as we work through this transition period. We are trying to make all the information parents need available as quickly as possible.
Communication
We use various channels of communication to reach you including this website, email, and our new Facebook Page.
Please note that our Facebook page is intended to showcase the wonderful activities happening at school, rather than serving as a public forum. For any questions or concerns, we encourage you to email us at sic.siggiewi.pr@ilearn.edu.mt.
To maintain a positive and constructive environment, we will be removing comments that are repetitive or unrelated to our content. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Calendar of Events
A dynamic calendar of events is now available here. This calendar will be updated in real time throughout.
First Day of School
The first day of school for all students from Year 1 to Year 6 will be 25 September 2024.
Kinder 2 pupils will start school on 1 October 2024.
Kinder 1 pupils will start school on 1 or 2 October 2024, as per appointment sent to parents via email.
Admission Time
The Breakfast Club starts at 7:00 am. Children arriving by transport will be admitted to school as soon as they arrive. Year 1 to Year 6 students will be admitted starting at 8:30 am, with Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 pupils admitted immediately after at 08:35 am.
School doors will be closed at 08:40 am. Students arriving after 08:40 am have to use the entrance on Dr Nikola Zammit Street.
Dismissal Time
Dismissal starts at 14:15 for Kinder pupils, followed by the other year groups in order.
Please note that Kinder 1 pupils will finish school at 12:00 pm for the first 5 days of school. This schedule is set by the education department to help them adjust to being at school. Klabb 3-16 will be available for Kinder 1 pupils from Tuesday 8 October 2024.
School Transport
The application for school transport is available here. For any information or help regarding school transport, please call 2598 1888.
Transport will begin operating on the first day of school. During the initial days, there may be some delays. Please avoid calling the school to check on transport status, as the office staff will not have real-time information on arrival or departure times.
School Uniform
School uniform is available from Yorkie Clothing. The uniform for Siġġiewi Primary is the same for all of St Ignatius College, including the Middle School. If it still fits, then you do not need to buy a new uniform!

Breakfast Club
Applications for Breakfast Club for 2024-2025 are now open and available here.
Breakfast Club will start operating from the first day of school.
Klabb 3-16
Applications for Klabb 3-16 are available here. Klabb 3-16 will start operating from 25 October 2024 for Kinder 2 to Year 6 students. Kinder 1 children can start making use of Klabb from Monday 7 October 2024.
It is parents’ responsibility to ensure that children who need to stay after school are registered for Klabb from DAY 1!
School staff is not responsible for any child who is not picked up on time. While we understand that sometimes a parent may be running late, this should be the exception and not the rule.
Meetings with Parents
Meetings with parents will be held in person and online according to the details on the calendar of events during the first days of the new term.
A meeting with parents of Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 pupils will be held in person on Tuesday 24 September at 09:00 am in the school hall.
Meetings with Year 1 to Year 6 parents will be held online as follows:
Thursday 26 September
09:00 am to 09:45 am – Year 4
10:45 am to 11:30 am – Year 5
12:45 am to 13:30 am – Year 6

You will be receiving an email from your child’s class teacher with a link to access the online meeting by Wednesday 25 September 2024.
Updating Details
Once school starts in September, we will send you a form so that you may provide/update student details, including addresses, telephone numbers and emergency contact details. We will then double check these details with those in our system to ensure that all information is accurate and up to date.
Remember that it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes in contact details that may occur during the scholastic year.
School Attendance
School attendance is mandatory. Please use this form to justify 1 or 2-day absences. Students are to hand in this form either before or immediately upon coming back to school after an absence. We will also provide a hard copy of the form when school starts.
Please note that if a student is sick for more than 2 consecutive days, a medical certificate needs to be presented. Unauthorised absences are automatically flagged and reported if they exceed 2 days in a month or 9 days in any given period.
