Cooking with young children can be a fun and educational experience that helps to enhance their cognitive, fine motor, and creative skills. Making pizza is an excellent way to involve kids in the kitchen and help them develop essential life skills. To enhance what we’ve learned in the classroom during our topic pizza we visited a restaurant, and we were pizzaioli for the day. The children made their own pizza, visited the kitchen and ate the pizza they made. This activity helped children to improve their fine motor skills while kneading the dough, spreading sauce and ingredients and also while pre-writing in the semolina. It also helped to enhance their mathematical skills such as counting, shapes, sequence and many more. Above all, it was an enjoyable and engrossing activity.
