Women’s Day Special Assembly
On 7th March, our school celebrated International Women’s Day with a special assembly. Class 4.2 presented a special assembly to commemorate Women’s Day and honour the contributions and achievements of women. International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8th March. It is a day when people around the world come together to recognise the achievements that women and girls have made, as well as call for further action to close gender gaps – in pay, work, education and other life opportunities. Although tremendous progress has been made in recent decades, there is still a long way to go before life opportunities are equal for women and men, and boys and girls. Instead of listening to stereotypes, we need to remember that we are all different and show respect for other people’s achievements, strengths, likes and dislikes. Everyone should have the same opportunities. We can all be good at anything we want to, we just need to try our best and work hard. We can be anything we want to be! Our interests and abilities are what matters when thinking about what we can do in the future, not whether we are a boy or a girl. If we work hard at something, we can achieve it!
