Il-Kotba Ħbieb tat-Tfal / Books are Children’s Friends – Parents/Guardians of Children in Year 1 & Year 2

Dear parents/guardians,

As part of the National Literacy Agency’s ongoing efforts to promote literacy and foster a love for reading among our young students, the Agency is distributing a set of four reading books through the ‘Il-Kotba Ħbieb tat-Tfal / Books are Children’s Friends’ scheme. The aim of this initiative is to encourage children to build a personal library at home.

We believe that your insights as parents are invaluable in assessing the effectiveness of this scheme. To this end, we kindly ask you to take a few moments to fill in a brief questionnaire. Your feedback will greatly assist us in assessing the scheme’s success and identifying areas for improvement.

The deadline to submit the questionnaire is Friday 14th June 2024. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

ALS Awareness Day

On the 23rd of May, the Student Council organised an ALS Awareness Day at school. Pupils were invited to wear a touch of red and donate 1 euro, which would be given to DAR Bjorn. The Student Council also prepared a short sketch to explain what ALS is to our pupils. They described how people diagnosed with ALS have problems with the messages the brain sends to the muscles. They also mentioned the tools these individuals use to help them speak, walk, and perform other tasks. Additionally, they encouraged our pupils to be compassionate and understanding.
