1hr SciMaths Challenge

Nhar il-Ħamis 28 ta’ Novembru ġiet organizzata għal darb’oħra fl-iskola tagħna, 1hr SciMaths Challenge. Tul din l-attivita’ l-istudenti kollha kemm tal-Kindergarten u kemm dawk tal-Primarja, ħadu sehem fi sfidi marbutin mal-Matematika u max-Xjenza u t-Teknoloġija. L-għalliema u l-kindergarten educators ippreparaw attivitajiet varji fejn it-tfal kellhom jaħdmu fi gruppi sabiex isolvu  b’mod prattiku sfidi li ġew ippreżentati. L-attivitajiet kienu jvarjaw minn logħob bin-numri sa esperimenti xjentifiċi u proġetti teknoloġiċi. Kif jidher mir-ritratti t’hawn taħt, l-istudenti kienu ħerqana biex jieħdu sehem, għamlu ħilithom biex irnexxilhom joħorġu b’soluzzjonijiet u ħadu gost jitgħallmu. Prosit kbira lil kull min għen biex din l-attivita’ tkun suċċess.

Midday Break Clubs

Ta’ kull sena, it-tfal mir-raba’ sas-sitt sena, ikollhom opportunità jagħżlu li waqt il-brejk jieħdu sehem fi klabb tal-għażla tagħhom. F’kull sena hemm għażla t’erba’ klabbs. Dawn jistgħu jsiru grazzi għall-għalliema u l-LSEs li dejjem jagħtu ħilithom fejn jidħlu t-tfal, kif ukoll għal xi nanniet jew membri oħra fil-komunità li joffru l-għajnuna tagħhom.

Din is-sena għandna l-klabbs tal-kor, tal-logħob tradizzjonali, tal-logħob edukattiv u tal-krafts għat-tfal tar-raba’ sena waqt li t-tfal tal-ħames sena għandhom il-klabbs taż-żfin, tal-Matematika, tal-Board Games u tat-tisjir. It-tfal tas-sitt sena għandhom il-klabbs tal-Milied, tal-arti marzjali, tal-kartolini u tal-futbol.

Prosit u grazzi lil dawk kollha li jagħtu sehemhom biex dawn il-klabbs iseħħu.

Wormery Workshop

On the 20th November three children from the EkoSkola committee and myself took part in a workshop about wormeries at St Agatha School. We discovered what wormeries are and their benefits. To make a wormery you need to prepare a container with a bed of soil, add the worms and some organic material from the compost bin such as banana skins, eggshells and vegetable peel. Then you cover everything with some hay and close the lid. You must keep the wormery somewhere shady and as close to room temperature as possible. Every now and then you must add organic waste on top. The worms will eat all the organic waste and transform it into compost. During the workshop we put on gloves and the teacher gave us some worms to place in the wormery. Finally, we took the wormery with us to our class. We will add organic waste to it and observe what will happen. During this workshop I had fun and discovered something I did not know about. We shared this information with all the school during assembly.
