Today Friday 14^th December, a group of elderly from the Siggiewi day care centre came to our school.  First they visited our museum of education.  Mr. P. Decelis took them round and gave an explanation as we went along.  The elderly then went up to the hall.  In the hall they watched a play, listened to songs and watched some children dance.  The show was put up by the year fives, year threes and year sixes.  The elderly had so much fun that they wanted to take a photo with us.  After, they were all invited for a small party.  We children in the EkoSkola committee prepared the snacks and drinks.  During the party we had time to talk to the elderly.  It was such fun for everybody and we hope to do it again next year.

Festa sabiħa b’risq il-Patrun tar-Raħal.  Il-festa tax-xitwa.  Il-festa tat-tfal. San Nikola bħala ċ-ċentru u l-promutur tas-solidarjeta’ ma’ min hu aktar fil-bżonn. Għalhekk fi tmiem iċ-Ċelebrazzjoni saret għotja lill-Caritas Malta.  Flus miġbura dak il-ħin stess u oħrajn miġbura waqt Jeans Day li saret ġranet qabel fl-iskola.

Il-festa bdiet bi proċessjoni li telqet mill-bitħa tal-iskola, bil-parteċipazzjoni tal-Banda San Nikola, tal-Grupp tal-armar, tal-iScouts tas-Siġġiewi, l-istaff, l-istudenti u ġenituri, flimkien ma’ numru sabiħ ta’ Siġġiwin u anke nies oħra li ingħaqdu magħna. Fosthom ingħaqad ukoll l-Arċisqof Emeritu Monsinjur Ġużeppi Mercieca.  Il-purċissjoni għaddiet mit-toroq tar-raħal sakemm waslet il-pjazza.  Hemmhekk it-tfal għoxew waqt it-tfiegħ tal-karti u bżieżaq ħomor u sofor.

Il-festa laħqet il-qofol tagħha b’quddiesa ċċelebrata mill-Arċipriet .  Waqt l-omelija, studenti mir-Raba’ Sena ppreżentaw siltiet mill-ħajja ta’ San Nikola.  Ingħaqdu magħna għal dan il-jum speċjali xi studenti miċ-Ċentru tar-Riżorsi tal-Wardija u oħrajn mill-iskola ta’ San Anton tal-Imselliet.  Dawn setgħu jaraw tradizzjoni ħajja maltija, dik ta’ festa brijuża bid-daqq tal-marċi.  Ferħ  li jġagħlna naħsbu fil-ferħ li nistgħu noħolqu għal xulxin jekk naħdmu id f’id u  ngħinu  lil min hu fil-bżonn.

Kap tal-iskola

Thursday 29th November, was an unusual day at St Ignatius College, Siggiewi primary as all the staff and children at our school dressed down and wore jeans against a donation of  €1 or more. The members of the pupils’ council came up with this idea. They themselves collected the money from each class and also from the administration, secretarial staff and other subject teachers. This fundraising activity originated in aid of Caritas. The total money collected is of  €510.

The money was presented to Mr Alex Attard from Caritas on the 6th of December during  St. Nicholas feast celebrations in the Siggiewi Parish Church.
