Festa San Nikola 2013

Il-festa tax-xitwa ġiet organizzata mill-Kulleġġ San Injazju Primarja Siġġiewi nhar is-6 ta’ Diċembru 2013.  Kienet suċċess peress li t-tfal kollha tal-iskola ħadu sehem flimkien mal-organizzazzjonijiet prinċipali tar-raħal.   Il-Kunsill Lokali għen fl-organizzazzjoni tat-toroq sabiex ma jkunx hemm problema tat-traffiku.  Il-Banda San Nikola ħadet sehem attiv billi daqqet marċi brijjużi matul il-purċissjoni kollha.  Il-grupp tal-iScouts tas-Siġġiewi akkumpanjaw il-vara artistika ta’ San Nikola, merfugħa minn studenti tas-Sitt Sena.  L-arċipriet qaddes quddiesa fil-knisja parrokkjali wara l-purċissjoni.  Il-knisja ma wesgħetx lil kulħadd.  Minbarra l-istudenti tal-Primarja tas-Siġġiewi attendew ukoll dawk tal-Form 1 tal-iskola San Anton tal-Imselliet u l-iskola St Francis tas-Siġġiewi. Ħajr tmur ukoll lis-sezzjoni tal-armar li taw aktar kulur lill-festa u lill-istaff kollu tal-iskola għall-koperazzjoni.

Waqt din il-festa saret ġabra b’risq il-Caritas fit-toroq kif ukoll fil-knisja.  Fl-aħħar tal-quddiesa, din il-ġabra żdiedet mal-ġabra tal-Jeans Day u ngħatat is-somma ta’ €903 lis-Sur Alex Attard, rappreżentant ta’ Caritas Malta.

Jeans Day in Aid of Caritas

Tuesday 3rd December, was an unusual day at St Ignatius College, Siggiewi primary as all the staff and children at our school dressed down and wore jeans against a donation of  €1 or more. The members of the pupils’ council came up with this idea. They themselves collected the money from each class and also from the administration, secretarial staff and other subject teachers. This fundraising activity originated in aid of Caritas. The amount collected was €625.

Year 4.2 ~ Ms Claudine’s Class awarded for eTwinning project 2012/13

During Scholastic Year 2012/2013, Year 4.2 Parrots of Ms Claudine Chircop’s class participated in an eTwinning project called Kids Around The World, Let’s Celebrate!

On Tuesday the 26th of November, the eTwinning National Support Service, in collaboration with the eLearning Centre – EMBED Awards – held the eTwinning National Awards covering the scholastic year 2012-2013.

During the awards ceremony, the eTwinning National Support Service Staff presented certificates to Ms Claudine Chircop with both the 2013 National Quality Label as well as the 2013 European Quality Label.

The European Quality Label is a second mark of success, awarded to schools whose project partners have received a National Quality Label and have been put forward by their National support service. The European Quality Label is awarded only once a year, these projects feature on the eTwinning Portal. Only receivers of the European Quality Label can apply for and win a European Prize. As of 2013, European Quality Labels are not being awarded automatically but have to be nominated by at least one National Support Service after a rigorous screening process.

With great pride we also announce that Ms Claudine has also been awarded a prize since the project Kids Around The World, Let’s Celebrate! has also placed 1st in the Category: ETWINNERS WHO HAVE BEEN PARTICIPATING IN PROJECTS FOR 2+ YEARS.

A special assembly was held at school on the 2nd of December, which incidentally was also Jeans Day.  Ms. Jacqueline Frendo distributed tokens to the pupils who formed part of Year 4.2 during last scholastic year.

Well done to all the teachers and students involved!
