From Our Nurture Class: Kindness

Għeżież ġenituri u kustodji,

Kif intom?  Nisperaw li tinsabu tajbin.

Illum qed nibagħtu xi riżorsi dwar l-importanza li nkunu qalbna tajba magħna nfusna u ma’ ħaddieħor.  Hu importanti li t-tfal jagħrfu sa minn eta’ żgħira li b’dan il-mod aħna nkunu aktar kuntenti u wkoll li dan hu ta’ benefiċċju għal saħħitna. Ma’ kull attivita’ għandkom issibu l-eta’ rakkomandata u xi linji gwida ta’ kif issir.

Grazzi tal-attenzjoni tagħkom.

Tislijiet,

Dear parents and guardians,

We hope that you are doing fine.

Today we are sending some resources about the importance of being kind to ourselves and to other. It is important that children learn from an early age that in this way we also feel happier and it is also beneficial for our health. Each activity has the recommended age group and guidelines as to how to go about it.

Thank you for your attention.

Regards,

What can you do to make the life of others better?

Ħin tal-kraft … Time for Craft

 Before You Play

Start a conversation about kindness. Ask your child about ways he is nice to others. For example, “What do you say to make your sister feel better when she’s sad?” or “How did you help Grandpa when we visited him last week?” or “What special things can you do to show your friends you like them?”

Materials

  • Coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Pen or pencil

Directions

1 Help your child trace or draw flowers on coloured paper and cut them out. Make sure they’re big enough to write a few words or a sentence.

2 Cut out a tree trunk shape and tape it to a wall.

3 Cut leaves and branches. Ask your child to help you tape these to the “Kindness Tree.”

4 Explain to your child that his Kindness Tree will “bloom” when he does something nice. Each day, ask him to share ways that he has been kind or helpful to a friend or family member — or ways that a friend or family member has been kind to him!

5 For each act of kindness, write a note on a paper flower or encourage your child to make drawings to illustrate her experience. Let your child add it to the tree, and watch the Kindness Tree bloom with colour!
