Kindergarten Activity No. 3 – Sorting

Sorting practice involving colours, shapes and size.

Prepare some different shape cut outs using either cardboard or some coloured paper you find at home. Make sure you cut out different coloured shapes in different sizes. This activity is aimed for Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 students so try to keep the shapes as easy and simple as possible.

On 3 different A3 white sheets draw 3 big circles next to each other. (Obviously that fit in the paper) and on top write a title on each paper. I can sort by shape, I can sort by colour and I can sort by size. Let your child start sorting ideally with shapes and colours first and then let him/her sort by size as it may be a little bit more challenging.

This activity is aimed to help and improve colour and shape recognition, learning through sorting and improving the children’s fine motor skills.

Kindergarten Activities

Dear parents

In the coming days we will be giving you some ideas of activities which can be done with children attending kindergarten. These activities are being prepared by our KGEs and coordinated by Ms I Mizzi.

Għeżież ġenituri

Fil-jiem li ġejjin se nkunu qed intellgħu xi ideat għal attivitajiet li jistgħu isiru mat-tfal li qed jattendu l-kindergarten. Dawn qed jiġu ppreparatin mill-KGEs tagħna mmexxija minn Ms I Mizzi.

No. 1 (Ms Rodianne)

F’din il-powerpoint li tidher hawn taħt, it-tfal iridu jikklikjaw fuq l-istampi skont l-ittra li jkollhom. Din l-attivita’ se tgħin lit-tfal biex jagħrfu l-ħsejjes tal-ittri, kif ukoll jidentifikaw l-ewwel ħoss tal-kelma.

In this powerpoint activity, children have to click on the pictures starting with the given letter. This activity will help the children to recognise the sounds of the letters and the corresponding first sound of the words.
