After investigating electric circuits, with a particular focus on conductors and insulators, I challenged my students to design and make a conductor testing circuit. This circuit is disguised as an insect and the insect’s antennae serve as two ends of a circuit. When a conductor is placed between the antennae the bulb on the insect’s face lights up.

After learning about and experimenting with electric circuits, my pupils were challenged to design and make their own moving vehicle. The pupils planned their models and then set to work to assemble their vehicles.  This process involved continuous testing and evaluating and pupils sometimes had to go back and redesign their vehicles. But at the end they were all proud of their work and eager to show off their working models.
