Questionnaire for Parents of Year 6 Students

Dear all,

As part of the research study on the introduction of portable technology in middle and secondary schools, we are carrying out a survey with parents. The survey is being conducted by PwC who are supporting us in carrying out the research study. The aim of the survey is mainly to:
i. Gain insight on the educational use of portable technological devices in the middle and secondary schools;

ii. Evaluate the experience of parents through the introduction of portable technology and the impact on their child/children’s learning.

Parents of Year 6 students are asked to access the survey through this link .

While the participation in the survey is on a voluntary basis, we would appreciate it if parents  participate in the survey to share their insights and opinions in this area.

The survey closes on Sunday 12th July 2020.

Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us on digitalliteracy@ilearn.edu.mt.

We thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Grazio Grixti

Important Questionnaire

The Ministry for Education and Employment would like to understand how students and the adults who care for them adapted to learning online while schools were closed in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus. For this reason, the Ministry is inviting you to participate in a questionnaire, which will help the Ministry and Schools to plan for the children’s return to school and to plan for similar situations that may arise in the future.

The questionnaire takes around 5 minutes to complete. If you are a parent/guardian/carer responsible for more than one child, please fill-in a questionnaire for each child. The questionnaire will not ask for your name, school or teachers’ names and will not collect any identifying information, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation. In filling in the questionnaire, we are understanding that you have read this information and have agreed to participating in this study.

Il-Ministeru tal-Edukazzjoni u x-Xogħol jixtieq jifhem aħjar kif l-istudenti u l-adulti li jieħdu ħsiebhom adattaw għat-tagħlim online fil-perjodu li fih l-iskejjel kienu magħluqin sabiex titnaqqas l-imxija tal-coronavirus. Għalhekk, il-Ministeru qed jistiednek tipparteċipa fi kwestjunarju, li ser jgħin lill-Ministeru u lill-iskejjel biex jippjanaw għar-ritorn tat-tfal fl-iskola u biex jippjanaw għal sitwazzjonijiet simili li jistgħu jinqalgħu fil-futur.

Dan il-kwestjunarju jieħu madwar 5 minuti biex timlieh. Jekk jgħoġbok imla kwestjunarju għal kull tifel/tifla taħt ir-risponsabbiltà tiegħek. Il-kwestjunarju mhux ser jistaqsi x’jismek, l-isem tal-iskola jew l-ismijiet tal-għalliema, u ma jiġbor l-ebda informazzjoni li biha inti tista’ tiġi identifikat, kif inhu mitlub mir-Regolament Ġenerali dwar il-Protezzjoni tad-Data.

AGĦFAS HAWN biex timla l-kwestjunarju bil-MALTI, jew AGĦFAS HAWN biex timla l-kwestjunarju bl-INGLIŻGrazzi bil-quddiem talli ser taqsam l-esperjenza tiegħek magħna permezz ta’ dan il-kwestjunarju.

Jekk għandek xi domandi dwar dan il-kwestjunarju, jekk jgħoġbok ċempel lit-Taqsima tar-Riċerka fil-MEDE fuq 2598 2284. Jekk għandek xi domandi dwar l-Edukazzjoni, jekk jgħoġbok ċempel il-Helpline tal-Edukazzjoni fuq 2598 1000.

Messaġġ mill-Kap Tal-Iskola

Għeżież Ġenituri
Waslet fi tmiemha sena skolastika oħra.  Minkejja d-diffikultajiet u l-isfidi li ġabu magħhom dawn l-aħħar xhur, konvinta li grazzi għall-ħidma tal-edukaturi kollha u tagħkom il-ġenituri, it-tagħlim xorta waħda sar għalkemm b’modi differenti.
Min-naħa l-oħra, minkejja li l-iskola kienet magħluqa, kien qed isir ħafna xogħol ta’ manutenzjoni u tisbiħ. Sar tibjid fil-klassijiet kollha u fil-foyer, twaħħlu fire alarms f’kull klassi u nxtraw diversi tipi ta’ għamajjar ġodda għal ġol-klassijiet. Saret ukoll vetrina taħt it-taraġ fejn ser jitpoġġew xi affarijiet li kienu magħluqa fil-mużew tal-edukazjoni, biex ikun jista’ jarahom kulħadd. Twaħħlu wkoll fannijiet ġodda u iktar b’saħħithom fis-sala tal-iskola. Aktar xogħol ser ikun qed jitkompla fis-sajf.
Minn qalbi, f’isem l-amministrazzjoni u l-istaff tal-iskola nawguralkom is-sajf it-tajjeb lilkom u lill-familji tagħkom.  U lit-tfal nfakkarhom kemm hu importanti, minbarra li jiddevertu u jistrieħu, li jaqraw ftit kuljum.
Grazzi

Dear Parents
Another scholastic year has come to an end.  Despite all the difficulties and challenges that we were faced with during these past months, I strongly believe that teaching and learning continued throughout, thanks to the hard work of all educators and your support as parents.
Although the school was closed during this period, a lot of maintenance work has been done including redecorating of all the classrooms and the foyer, and installation of a fire alarm in each classroom.  New furniture has been bought for classrooms and there is a new showcase under the main staircase for the display of things and documents which were in the education museum. New fans were also bought to replace the old ones which were in the school hall. More works will continue during the summer months.
On behalf of the school administration and staff, I would like to wish you all the best for the summer holidays. I would also like to remind all children that besides relaxing and enjoying themselves, they must also read a little everyday.

Thanks
N Saliba
