SpLD Skype Support
SpLD Service is determined to continue supporting students, parents and educators throughout the duration of school closure because of COVID-19. During these challenging times SpLD Service will be extending its online services via Skype.
Parents of children with dyslexia are invited to contact a dyslexia specialist teacher for an online consultation to discuss and address specific concerns. Parents and students can request practical advice on how to extend learning at home.
Additionally, educators wishing to avail themselves from this service particularly in relation to dyslexia friendly measures are encouraged to also contact us.
This service will be available on Skype during regular school hours from Monday – Friday between 8:30 – 12:30 and 13:00 – 14:30. Kindly contact SpLD Service Malta on Skype as per attached schedule:

One Tablet Per Child Project (OTPC) – Internet Filtering
Dear Parents
OTPC tablets provide an educational environment through which the student can access content provided by the teacher. Since the closing of schools, OTPC tablet usage has drastically increased. We are informed of great practices including tablet usage for regular communication and sharing of learning material. To enhance such usage during this period and to facilitate the work of teachers, MEDE will be opening Internet filtering on OTPC tablets as from Monday 30th March at 8am.
May we remind all parents that as for any other digital devices, parents should be aware of what their children see and hear on the Internet, who they meet, and what they share about themselves. It is important that you talk with your kids and keep an eye on their activities.

Għeżież Ġenituri
It-tabletstal-proġett OTPC jipprovdu ambjent edukattiv li permezz tiegħu l-istudent jista’ jkollu aċċess għal-kontenut ipprovdut mill-għalliem. Minn meta ingħalqu l-iskejjel, l-użu ta’ l-OTPC tablets żdied drastikament. Aħna infurmati dwar ħafna prattiċi tajba inkluż l-użu ta’ tablets
għall-komunikazzjoni regolari u tqassim ta’ materjal tat-tagħlim. Biex jitjieb l-użu ta’ dan it-tipgħal dan il-perjodu u sabiex niffaċilitaw ix-xogħol tal-għalliema, l-MEDE se tiftaħ il-filtraġġ tal-Internet fuq l-OTPC tablets mit-Tnejn 30 ta’ Marzu fit-8am.
Nixtiequ nfakkru lill-ġenituri kollha li bħal kull apparat diġitali ieħor, il-ġenituri għandhom ikunu konxji ta’ dak li jaraw it-tfal tagħhom u jisimgħu fuq l-internet, dawk li jiltaqgħu magħhom, u x’dettalji dwarhom jaqsmu fuq l-internet. Huwa importanti li l-ġenituri jitkellmu ma’ wliedhom u jżommu għajnejhom fuq l-attivitajiet tagħhom.
