The sCOOL2Walk walking bus initiative starts Thursday, 8th June. The walking bus is group of parents and kids who walk together to school. A Community Police Officer will join us during the walk, ensuring the safety of all participants🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

We’ll be gathering in front of the Chapel St. John the Baptist Chapel (near the Police Station)

7:50 am – Meet up at Chapel of St. John the Baptist

8:00 am – Start walking to school

8:10 am – Arrive at Siggiewi Primary School

We, the EkoSkola committee at Siġġiewi Primary School, have been working on a heritage trail. We worked with loads of different people and different classes. As a committee we have prepared an eco-code.  In the eco-code we wrote an acrostic poem and Deyan Mizzi created the art work with the help of Ms. Abela, our assistant head. We did this eco-code so that everyone will know what we are trying to achieve. Each class is being given a copy of our eco-code so that they can have a look at it and hang it in their own classroom.

During the summer months, the National Literacy Agency will be offering a summer edition of the Footballers’ Read and Write Programme / Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja.
The aim of this programme is to inspire a love of reading and writing amongst students who love football. Past cycles have shown that by the end of the programme most participants improve their reading skills. The FRWP sessions combine the children’s love and passion for football with reading and writing, thus motivating them to read and better their overall language skills.
A limited number of pupils will be accepted. An informal interview will be held with all applicants as part of the selection process prior to the start of the programme. The ten sessions are going to be held once a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St Venera Ground, Hamrun.

Is-sajf li ġej, l-Aġenzija Nazzjonali tal-Litteriżmu se tkun qed toffri edizzjoni sajfija tal-programm edukattiv ‘BilQari u l-Kitba Niskorja / Footballers’ Read and Write Programme’.
L-għan ta’ dan il-programm hu li t-tfal li jħobbu l-futbol jitħajru jaqraw aktar. L-esperjenza wrietna li fuq medda ta’ ftit ġimgħat, l-istudenti li jieħdu sehem f’dan il-programm itejbu l-ħiliet tal-qari u l-fehim tagħhom. Dan ilprogramm iżewweġ l-imħabba tat-tfal għall-futbol mal-gost tal-qari u l-kitba, u hekk it-tfal jaqraw aktar kotba u jtejbu l-ħiliet tagħhom.
Il-postijiet għal dan il-programm huma limitati. Għalhekk issir għażla, fejn fost oħrajn, dawk kollha li japplikaw issirilhom intervista informali qabel jibda l-programm. Fis-sajf imbagħad ikun hemm sessjoni fil-ġimgħa għal 10 ġimgħat mit-8:30 a.m sal-10:30 a.m. fil-grawnd ta’ Santa Venera, il-Ħamrun.
