Well done to our school’s Futsal team who recently have participated in a football tournament organised for primary schools. Our team played a total of 8 games, won 6, drew 1 and lost only 1 game. Thanks to Mr Alan Ellul, our PE teacher for making this participation possible.

We celebrated the feast of Saint Martin during a special assembly prepared by Year 3.4. The children said that the feast of Saint Martin is a beautiful reminder of the goodness and compassion in the world.  During a cold winter’s day, Saint Martin showed kindness to a beggar, even when no one else would.   The Year 3.4 children also mentioned the spell of fine weather that we get during this period and the traditional fair that takes place in the rural village of Baħrija.  

Finally, the traditional bag full of nuts, fruits, sweets and other goodies was discussed by the children.  They explained how in the past, such a bag brought a lot of happiness as it was full of items that were rare.  The children ended the special assembly by singing together a popular rhyme:

Ġewż, lewż, qastan, tin

Kemm inħobbu lil San Martin!
