Next week is Zero Waste Lunch Week at our school. Lunch can be a tough thing to turn to ‘zero waste’. Even if packed at home lunch often means sandwich bags, napkins, foil, cling film and ‘single use’ plastic packaging which is usually destined for the bin. What we really need is a set of reusable lunch storage items, which we can then use over and over again, safe in the knowledge that we are being eco-friendly, as well as saving ourselves money. Next week those children who will succeed in eating lunch and not throwing away anything will be awarded a point a day to a maximum of 5 points in the week.
