Hornets

The oriental hornet population is increasing as is evident all over Malta. Our school is no exception, and we often notice hornets flying outside the school building. As a school we have taken the necessary precautions by installing four hornet traps (see picture below) and by conducting frequent checks on the roofs and around the school to check whether any hornet nests are forming in the vicinity.

European Day of Languages : Special Assembly

On 26th October, we celebrated the European day of languages.  The European day of languages is an event celebrated annually.  The main objectives of the European day of languages are to promote cultural diversity and to show people across Europe how important and fun languages are, thus encouraging language learning.  For this occasion, our school celebrated this day during the morning assembly.  Children from class 6.1 started the assembly by singing a song through which they saluted in different languages. Then the children shared with the school the general objectives of the European day of languages and the importance of lifelong language learning, fun facts about languages, tongue twisters, etc.  The children also had the opportunity to listen to their foreign classmates speaking in their native languages.
