Dyslexia Experts visit our school

On Wednesday 25th January 2023 our school welcomed two experts from the University of Texas at Austin and the Dyslexia Foundation USA, in a visit that focused on dyslexia-friendly approaches.  Professor Sharon Vaughn and her colleague Dr Colleen Reutebuch were accompanied by Professor Ruth Falzon from the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta.  The group had the chance to observe some classes and dyslexia friendly practices used by teachers.

Tiny Teen Science Cafe

Our school is proud to have organised the first edition of Tiny Teen Science Cafe in our school. The aim of this activity is to expose students to careers in STEM. A number of professionals working in the area were invited to the school to share their experiences with year 4 students and their parents. Thanks to Mr Christopher-John Buttigieg and Ms Raisa Mallia Azzopardi from the Science Centre who helped the school’s SLT to organise this event. A special thank you goes put to the professionals who contributed to this event: Sharklab Malta; Ms Rita Portelli; Dr Petra Jones and Mr Tauseef Ahmed.

Thematic STEM Debate

The Science Centre (Pembroke) within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes organised the 4th edition of the Thematic STEM Debate within Primary Schools on Wednesday 25th January. The aim of this initiative is to engage students to become active critical thinkers and skilled debaters. Our school was represented by Liam Pace of Year 6.4. Our thanks goes to Mr & Ms Pace and Mr Ayrton Azzopardi who prepared and supported Liam in this event.
