Dear Parent,
We would like to invite you to attend a workshop on the upcoming sCOOL2walk project that aims to encourage walking to St Ignatius College Siġġiewi Primary School.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, 18th April, from 14:30 to 15:30 in the school hall.
For parents who cannot join us in person, we will also hold an online session on Thursday, 20th April, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
About the project:
Project Aegle Foundation (PAF), a Maltese NGO advocating for sustainable mobility and Transport Malta are part of a European project, sCOOL2walk, that aims to increase the safety of children’s commutes to school through a digital web app that helps match children and parents to walk together.
The project will be piloted in Autumn 2023 at Siġġiewi Primary School with the support of the Siggiewi Local Council, the community police and EkoSkola.
Through this pilot project, we are looking to offer a solution to busy parents who cannot always walk their kids to school. The project aims to revisit previous initiatives such as the walking bus to school to ensure that everyone arrives safely at school and with a smile on their faces.
About the Workshop
As parents, your opinion matters, and we would like to hear your feedback.
The objective of this workshop is to listen to you and gather information regarding your child’s trip to school. Some of the questions we will cover may include:
- Which route do you take?
- What influences your choice of walking versus not walking to school?
- How do you feel towards allowing other adults to walk your children to school?
- What do you wish to see happening through this project?
While you are participating in the workshop, children will have their own parallel activities.
We hope you can join us and be a part of this exciting initiative that aims to make walking to school safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
Kind Regards,
The sCOOL2Walk team
