Kindergarten Activity No. 31 – Homemade Dough

You will need:

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 teaspoons cream of tartar

2 cups water

Food colouring

 

Mix everything in a pan and cook on low heat stirring continuously until a ball is formed.

 

Practising Numbers

Use these number counting mats, to practise number value and recognition.

You can write letters/numbers or shapes in playdough using either small pebbles, or coins, or buttons etc.

 

Letter Formation

Practice forming letters (in Maltese) with playdough by printing these mats. After printing the mats cover them in plastic in order to use them more than once.

Important: Remind the children to start putting the dough from where the arrow is, so that they can practise letter formation correctly.

Finally, let the children play freely with the playdough so they use their imagination to create things.
