Kids Dig Science

Kids Dig Science is back with a whole new line up of science, theatre and fun experiments. Join us on the 20th October at Spazju Kreattiv between 3 and 5pm for our first session this season. It’s ADHD Awareness Month and we want to help children understand that different is great too.Whoever said the heart works in mysterious ways knows not what he is saying. We know exactly how the heart works, it’s pretty straightforward actually… blood in, blood out. Now, the brain is a whole new kettle of fish. Did I say fish? What I really meant are chemicals, electric impulses, strata, synapses, lobes, cortex, neurons… ok you get my drift. Mysterious is an understatement and yet a team of researchers at the University of Malta are working on unraveling the differences between a neurotypical brain and those which functions on ADHDthrough EEGs, which track and record brain wave patterns.
Now then how do we go about explaining ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to kids? That’s up to our puppets to figure out and your kids to find out, in one of our most mindboggling adventures to date.
If you know of a teenager (12-16 year olds) who deals with ADHD on a daily basis and wishes to participate in this groundbreaking research project, please contact nowell.zammit@um.edu.mt
