Embed Digital Literacy Awards 2017

Ms Claudine Chircop, class teacher of Year 4.1 Parrots, has participated in EMBED Digital Literacy Awards 2017 with a project about a famous Maltese personality, Dun Karm Psaila, which demonstrates the use of creative and inclusive learning methods that achieve outstanding results, with the potential to be replicated and or of inspiration to others. Infact we are pleased to announce that this project has been awarded first place in the Innovative Digital Learning Project Category.

Ms Claudine Chircop has also placed first in the use of Online Learning: Use of iLearn Category. The project presented the use of Fronter which allowed multi-modlity: text, images and video as well as great utilization of “flipped classroom” learning. The use of iLearn was a great way to involve parents too.

As Mr Zammit, Director for Digital Literacy and Transversial Skills stated,

“EMBED is a tiny recognition but a hugely important one as it demonstrates dedication and exceptional quality of teachers while making best use of digital technology in class.”

Most importantly such work leaves a positive impact on the students’ learning experience.
