The 11th of November is the day dedicated to St. Martin of Tours. Since this year it fell on a Saturday, at school we celebrated it on Friday, the 10th of November during the morning special assembly. Children from the class 5.3 gave an overview about St. Martin and the life he led, giving particular importance to his faith in Christ and his generosity towards charity and poor people. In the second part, the children shared some Maltese rhymes and traditions, including foods and games related to the feast of St. Martin. Moreover, the children finished the assembly by giving out popular food associated with the feast of St. Martin, namely; walnuts, almonds, chestnuts and figs. Finally, the children invited the other classes to join them to recite the famous chant related to St. Martin in Maltese: Ġewż, lewż, qastan, tin: Kemm inħobbu ‘l San Martin!
